Reading by Behzad Karim Khani: “What I feel about Germany is not positive”

Author, journalist, and editor Behzad Karim Khani returned to his youthful roots in the Ruhr region with a reading at the Schauspielhaus Bochum. The subsequent discussion was a compelling one.
It took less than 45 minutes for Behzad Karim Khani to respond by email to the request to read from his second book at the Schauspielhaus Bochum. "Finally!" wrote the author, journalist, and editor of the revived Weltbühne. After all, the Berlin-based author grew up in Bochum, having fled to Germany with his family from Iran shortly before his tenth birthday. However, he immediately clarified that no hymns of praise for the Ruhr region were to be expected: "Feel free to boo or throw bottles. I've seen worse in Bochum."
