As a result of the rapid development of media, it's becoming increasingly difficult to sensitize the public to complex cultural and historical contexts. Silent film —what is it? Black-and-white, often fidgeting images of wildly gesticulating or languidly suffering, heavily made-up people who, for some reason, can't speak?
