A Colombian pizzeria is among the 100 best in the world: which one is it?

The Best Pizza Awards 2025, an international award dedicated to preserving the identity of this dish, revealed the list of the 100 best pizzerias in the world.
The awards were presented this Wednesday, June 25, during a ceremony held in Milan, Italy, following a rigorous evaluation process led by an independent jury of 512 experts from 60 countries.
At the ceremony, the Bogotá-based pizzeria Fortezza, led by Carmine Tangredi and his wife and partner, Daniela Hoyos, was recognized as 80th among the 100 best in the world at the Best Pizza Awards 2025.
His approach prioritizes technique, authenticity, innovation, and, above all, passion. Based on these criteria, Fortezza prevailed among countless participants from every continent.
"Fortezza's offering isn't a replica. It's an evolution. Inspired by Neapolitan tradition, but adapted to a more refined vision, Carmine and his team have spent three years developing a recipe that honors Italian heritage and elevates it with Colombian precision: long-fermented dough made with meticulous processes, a fluffy crust, the highest-quality ingredients , and artisanal techniques that strive for innovation," reads a statement issued by the pizzeria.

"This achievement is confirmation that extraordinary things can be achieved in Colombia if we work with respect for raw materials, technique, and craftsmanship," says Tangredi, who has led this project from its initial stage as a frozen pizza producer to establishing it as one of Bogotá's most beloved culinary destinations.
