Joselito Adame announces his retirement this Wednesday in Huesca

Joselito Adame has been a matador for eighteen years. He took his alternative in Arles in 2007 and has since fought in the world's leading bullrings, becoming one of Mexico's leading figures. This Wednesday, he will conclude his career at the Huesca bullring, as announced in the following statement:
"Today is one of the most important and defining days of my life. Since that distant October 10, 2000, when I was just 11 years old, the day I first dressed in lights, I never imagined this moment would come.
Through this statement, I wish to convey my decision to stop bullfighting, to put a stop to my professional life. It's something I've been thinking about for several months; it's been a very difficult decision. However, at the stage I'm currently in, I feel the need to stop, to leave the bullfighter behind and give focus to the man.
I've dedicated my life to bullfighting for 26 years, intensely and uninterruptedly; I've approached it with absolute dedication, commitment, and respect. It's also fair to say that the bull has given me everything. I consider myself a privileged human being and proud to be a bullfighter.
I've decided that this coming Wednesday, August 13th, will be the 606th bullfight of my career, within the 2025 Albahaca Fair in the bullring of Huesca (Spain), the last of what, so far, has turned out to be an incredible story.
Time, calm, and a different perspective to face this new way of life will shape my future decisions, both personally and professionally.
I want to thank God, my family, all those who have been there throughout my career, those who have encouraged me since I arrived at the bullfighting school and who have contributed to my professional development; my team, friends, the press, the professional sector, and, above all, my infinite gratitude to the fans who, with their love and dedication, have helped me make what was once a dream a reality.
