“I stand against genocide and in favor of Palestinian rights today and always,” singer Judeline said emphatically on Instagram on Wednesday, announcing that she will not perform at the next edition of the Benicàssim International Festival (FIB), scheduled for July 17, 18, and 19. This is in opposition to the event’s association with the US investment fund KKR , which has invested in Israeli cybersecurity companies and participates in real estate websites operating in the occupied Palestinian territories.

For the singer, this isn't just any connection: "Most of what we consume has consequences for a portion of the population, even if we aren't aware of it; however, in this case, the relationship is direct and obvious."

The artist, originally from Los Caños de Meca (Cádiz), was scheduled to perform on Friday the 18th, but decided to cancel her participation after learning of the relationship between the FIB and KKR, one of the shareholder funds of the promoter The Music Republic , organizer of the festival.

Judeline hasn't been the only one. Dozens of artists have pulled out of KKR-affiliated festivals—such as Sónar , Resurrection Fest, ShareMusic! (Love The 90s) events, or Viña Rock itself—some of whom continue to face cancellations despite publicly distancing themselves and expressing their solidarity with Palestine.

Reincidentes, Kamikazes , and Sons of Aguirre & Scila, among others, have confirmed they will not return to Viña Rock, while La Raíz, Los Chicos del Maíz , and Los de Marras are no longer appearing on several lineups. Even the Rivas-Vaciamadrid City Council confirmed that the festivals scheduled for this summer will go ahead, but has decided to cancel the remaining contract, which included six more concerts planned for the next three years.
