This year, 2025, marks 40 years since EL PAÍS created the position of Readers' Ombudsman. To celebrate, we're offering you the opportunity to enjoy an exclusive meeting with Soledad Alcaide , who has held this position for two years.

Soledad Alcaide has been Readers' Ombudsman since January 2023. Previously, she was section head of Reports and Madrid (2021-2022), Social Media and Newsletters (2018-2021), and deputy director of the UAM-EL PAÍS School of Journalism (2014-2018). She holds a law degree from the UAM and a master's degree in Journalism from UAM-EL PAÍS and a master's degree in Digital Transformation from ISDI Digital Talent.
