This year, 2025, marks 40 years since EL PAÍS created the position of Readers' Ombudsman. To celebrate, we're offering you the opportunity to enjoy an exclusive meeting with Soledad Alcaide , who has held this position for two years.

What's your daily routine like? What are the issues that most concern readers? Is your job difficult? Soledad Alcaide will discuss these and other issues with our premium subscribers at a very special event, taking place on May 21 at the newspaper's headquarters . Soledad Alcaide has been Readers' Ombudsman since January 2023. Previously, she was section head of Reports and Madrid (2021-2022), Social Media and Newsletters (2018-2021), and deputy director of the UAM-EL PAÍS School of Journalism (2014-2018). She holds a law degree from the UAM and a master's degree in Journalism from UAM-EL PAÍS and a master's degree in Digital Transformation from ISDI Digital Talent.
