Porta Ferrada closes its 63rd edition with 31,200 spectators and 91% occupancy

The Porta Ferrada Festival in Sant Feliu de Guíxols (Girona) closed its 63rd edition, held from July 12 to August 20, with a total of 31,200 spectators across its twenty scheduled concerts, with a 91% overall occupancy rate.

According to its organizers, this edition confirms the transversality of its program, aimed at all audiences, with concerts ranging from jazz to pop, flamenco, and folk music, as well as top-level dance performances, classical music, and musical excellence that makes it a cultural landmark in southern Europe.

The festival has reaffirmed its commitment to artistic quality in all genres, including classical music.

A performance by singer Rosario concluded the Guíxols Arena concerts, the main stage for this year's edition. Sixteen concerts were scheduled from July 12th to mid-August, six of which were sold out . Miklós Perényi also concluded the Monastery's classical music season, bringing the 63rd edition of Catalonia's oldest festival to a close.

Andrés Calamaro and his drum set of hits performed on the Guíxols Arena stage, along with Kurt Elling accompanied by Yellowjackets and the Brad Mehldau Trio, as well as the Catalan band Ginestà and the double concert by La Casa Azul and Fangoria, which opened August. Antoñito Molina and María Peláe, in another double concert, provided the pop vibe.

Of the 16 concerts scheduled, six were sold out.

Miguel Poveda presented his flamenco show dedicated to García Lorca, while Sara Baras brought the venue to its feet with her performance Sombras . Umberto Tozzi bid farewell to the Spanish stage with a single concert; Los Secretos and Duncan Dhu transported the audience back to the 1980s, and Sofiane Pamart delighted the audience with a solo piano performance.

Umberto Tozzi bid farewell to Spanish stages with a single concert. Guitarricadelafuente sold out days before his memorable performance, and "God Save The Queen" took the audience back in time and reminded them of Freddie Mercury. Rosario, true to form, turned the Guíxols Arena into a dance floor.

Additionally, the classical music series featured performances by figures such as Núria Giménez, Roger Padullés, and Miklós Perényi himself, reaffirming the festival's commitment to artistic quality across all genres.
