Sergio Rollón suffers a serious goring that affects the femoral artery, and has to be transported by helicopter to the hospital.

During the three-way final of the Madrid Bullfighting Circuit in Valdetorres de Jarama, Sergio Rollón was gruesomely gored as he was going in for the kill with the third bull from Hermanos González. He was left hanging from the horn for a few endless seconds, the goring entering the Scarpa triangle, from where he was bleeding profusely when he was taken to the infirmary.

According to Telemadrid, he received continuous transfusions from the portable operating room next to the plaza due to the large amount of blood the young man from Madrid was losing.

The celebration had to be halted due to the severity of the accident. He was stabilized in the infirmary and had to be flown by helicopter to La Paz University Hospital. Initial reports indicate that the injury affected the femoral and saphenous veins.

After more than an hour of stoppage, it was decided to suspend the event, inviting fans to the two-man final, which will be fought tomorrow in the same arena by Sergio's fellow bullfighters on Saturday: Álvaro Serrano, who cut off an ear from the first bull of the afternoon, and Julio Méndez, who cut off the ear of the only bull he killed.
