However, a study conducted by 'Critical Reviews in Food Science and Nutrition', a food science journal published monthly by Taylor & Francis , has talked about the benefits of apples and how this fruit is of great help in reducing cholesterol and protecting the heart.

According to research, eating this food can help lower blood pressure and inflammation.
In addition, unpeeled apples are a source of fiber and contain compounds called polyphenols, which are of great benefit to heart health, as included in 16 studies on apple consumption.
Another study that was carried out by a Research Group on Functional Nutrition, Oxidation and Cardiovascular Disease, from the Rovira i Virgili University, has analyzed several investigations on this fruit.
Red-fleshed apples are rich in anthocyanins, compounds that help lower cholesterol. Scientific evidence from several studies found that people who ate at least one whole apple a day for at least one year reduced their risk of dying from a stroke by 27 percent and their risk of dying from a heart attack by 25 percent.

In addition, it reduced the risk of suffering from hypertension by 9 percent, which is why experts recommend eating this fruit.
