A musical anniversary for the 20th anniversary of Épicerie Moderne

A musical anniversary for the 20th anniversary of Épicerie Moderne

This year marks two decades since L'Épicerie Moderne began celebrating culture, not the kind that separates but the kind that brings together, without embarrassment, genres and people.

This Feyzin concert hall has a program that is definitely committed to making culture accessible and open to all. On the bill at the start of the year: on October 17, Sophye Soliveau, nominated for the Victoires du Jazz 2025, who combines her harp with her voice to achieve “sounds of soul and R&B” . On December 12, we will witness the culmination of a collaboration between Birds in Row (post hardcore), Louisahhh and Maelstrom (techno punk) - from this meeting an album was born, to be released on November 3.

Since 2018, this creative space has been labeled “Scène de musiques actuelles,” a label that promotes places that showcase contemporary music, and more specifically emerging artists. Run since 2005 by volunteers from AMAF (Association des Musiques Actuelles de Feyzin), the Épicerie Moderne offers concerts, but also other varied cultural events - workshops for children, exhibitions, musical encounters, support sessions for artists (professional or amateur) - always with the aim of democratizing culture a little more in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.

In its 20 years of existence, the Épicerie Moderne seems to have carved out a comfortable place for itself on the Lyon (and surrounding) cultural scene. To celebrate this second decade-anniversary as it should be, you are invited to Feyzin on Friday and Saturday, September 26 and 27, for a musical program that showcases artists as varied as they are "cutting-edge," discovery workshops, and exhibitions. On Friday, September 26, for example, you can discover Walter Astral, a " cosmic electro " duo, at the crossroads of folk pop, electro, and house. We will also find Lulu van Trapp, another group that refuses reductive labels but that can be placed somewhere between punk, rock, and pop.
