Ain. A participatory fresco decorates the wall of the Torcieu town hall-school building

The fresco can be seen on the wall of the town hall-school building, at 19 Grande Rue in Torcieu.
Since July 8, the participatory fresco created under the direction of the mural artist “? AH!” (Anne Henry), has been completed. It is visible to all, on the large wall of 9.5 m by 6.5 m, which adjoins the linden tree at the edge of the town hall-school building. Anne Henry is a graduate of the École des Beaux-Arts, and creates a colorful universe. For this work, the mural artist used solvent spray and acrylic. She exhibits at the Em'Arts gallery in Lyon, and in her studio gallery in Annonay (Ardèche).
This project was created as part of the participatory mural project proposed by the Plaine de l'Ain Community of Communes (CCPA). This year, six municipalities' projects were selected and finalized. The closest were Ambérieu-en-Bugey and Vaux-en-Bugey.
Two workshops to meet and design the fresco with the artist took place during a mediation weekend, on April 5 and 6, in the Jeanine Sonnery room.
Stories and anecdotes, old photos and postcards were the sources of inspiration for the figures and characters in the fresco, linked to the heritage, personalities and traditions of the town. The work is an invitation to discover the history of the town and the vision that the inhabitants have of it.
Funding for the artistic performance is provided by the CCPA, and the municipality has covered the artist's accommodation and meals.
17 vignettes recall themes dear to the inhabitants, and local life: wildlife, the Albarine trout, the heron, the lynx... And the face of Jean-Marie Roman, known as “la Chique”, resident of Dorvan, elected most beautiful smile in France in 1965.
