Baltic switches to summer time

The French brand unveils a quartet of Hermetic Summer in bright colors designed for summer tanning.
And why not? Under the sun and on tanned skin, the most vivid colors appear in an entirely different way. Older readers will remember Alain Delon sporting a Cartier Tank with a lapis lazuli dial on his dark skin... In summer, anything goes, including when it comes to watchmaking. All the more reason to treat yourself as long as back-to-school and rain aren't on the horizon! This is somewhat what Baltic is offering by unveiling, just before the summer holidays, a quartet of colorful watches: four Hermetic Summer watches in blue, yellow, orange, and pink.
To each his own, with a dial featuring a lightly brushed black railway sector contrasting with the central, shiny, stamped sector, encircled by two polished steel blades. Here, the so-called "syringe" hands are made of polished steel and coated with Super-Luminova, as are the indexes. In terms of finishing, the 37 mm diameter and 10.8 mm thick steel case of these watches features horizontal brushing along the caseband, circular brushing on the lugs, and a polished bezel. We love the elegant detail of its integrated crown, which is all too rare in the world of contemporary watchmaking.
This quartet of summer watches beats to the rhythm of a Japanese Miyota 9039 caliber offering a 42-hour power reserve. Pair it with either a rubber strap (€660) or Flat Link and Grain de riz bracelets (€738).
