Chaux-des-Crotenay. Tours, conference and exhibition for the ArchéoJuraSites discovery day

As every year, the ArchéoJuraSites association is offering a Discovery Day in the Chaux-des-Crotenay area and surrounding villages. It will take place on Saturday, August 23, with the program including tours, an exhibition, and a conference (free participation).
▶ Concerning the visits, several morning tours and six others in the afternoon are proposed which will allow you to discover or rediscover certain vestiges revealed by André Berthier , to visit some natural places or places of memory in the surrounding area, to follow the evolution of the excavation site of the medieval castle or to discover the plateau of Chaux-des-Crotenay by mountain bike. Departures for these visits take place in front of the tennis court of Chaux-des-Crotenay, at 9:30 a.m. for the morning visits (with the exception of the visit of the castle which takes place near the church) and at 2 p.m. for the afternoon visits.
An Opus II workshop will also be offered, which will allow participants to participate in a commented consultation of the report produced from the Lidar survey as part of the Territorial Study conducted since 2018 in partnership with the Oppidum association. "Prior registration is required for all the proposed activities to facilitate the organization of the day," explains Françoise Dubois, president of ArchéoJuraSites. The program is available on the ArchéoJuraSites website (www.archeojurasites.org) or by telephone (06.03.30.70.60).
▶ The André-Berthier space will be open all day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the Chaux-des-Crotenay community hall from 10 a.m. for the exhibition.
▶ A conference is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. and will be given by Jacques Mivelle, former president of the association of friends of the Old Country of Nozeroy, on the theme of Nozeroy, a city in Franche-Comté, from the High Middle Ages to the present day.
"During his talk, Mr. Mivelle will focus on presenting the history of the city and its fortress and the importance of this administrative, political, and religious center over the centuries. The conference will be held in the Chaux-des-Crotenay town hall," adds Françoise Dubois.
