On Sunday, two fashion houses that each marked the 20th century in their own time presented their ready-to-wear fashion shows as a prelude to haute couture.

Sunday afternoon, it's raining in Paris. It might not seem like much, but you might think that bad weather is a runway show's worst enemy. As expected, to celebrate its grand return to the Parisian runways (the last women's show took place in March 2020), Celine had planned to present its Spring 2026 collection in the courtyard of its mansion at 16 rue Vivienne. With all their hopes pinned on weather apps, the teams studied possible scenarios for staying outside, but had to capitulate under the torrential rain. Everyone is therefore invited to set up camp in the offices and showroom—except for a handful of brave souls (mostly content creators) sitting under the relative protection of a huge Celine-print silk scarf, affixed above the courtyard.
