Lussas remains Lussas, thirty-six years after its creation, when a group of filmmakers, led by Jean-Marie Barbe, a local boy, author and producer, decided to organize a non-competitive festival in this Ardèche village . To show works, discuss filmmaking, and give the locals a taste for documentaries. Today, the founders have aged, a new audience of young people fills the halls, to the point that, after 35, one feels old. While the 37th edition of the Etats généraux du film documentaire is due to end on Saturday, August 23, the attendance is high, the halls are overflowing... and tensions are rising.

On the evening of Thursday, August 21, a call for a strike was launched by volunteers, denouncing, in a text, "the pressure" put on the teams, "aggressive managerial methods" , "sexist remarks" . Organizational problems arose, in particular, between a co-manager of the bar and volunteers. The tone rose and sexist remarks were made. "We conducted an initial mediation at the beginning of the week which, for us, was successful. We will meet with the volunteers again today to hear their demands. The festival will not tolerate any sexist violence" , explains Fabienne Hanclot, one of the leaders of the demonstration.
