Last visits before the Catacombs close

For two and a half centuries, they have housed the remains of millions of people, whose bones form their walls. The Catacombs of Paris will close their doors on Monday for six months to carry out renovation work. The galleries are indeed weakened by humidity, but also by the effects of bacteria and _CO2 released by their nearly 600,000 annual visitors.
