Longines revisits the oldest of its watch collections

The Conquest Heritage plays the history card, with new 38 mm and 40 mm diameter models
Since 1832, the watchmaking house from Saint-Imier, Switzerland, has designed an infinite number of watches, for all wrists, in all styles. But the first collection for which it registered its name actually dates back a good century: the name Conquest was registered in 1954 with the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property. This key milestone marks the moment when models organized by collection improved both product identification and visibility. Over time, the collection has undergone many incarnations. The latest, the Conquest Heritage, plays the history card, with new 38 mm and 40 mm diameter models paying homage to the brand's long history. Emblematic of the collection since its launch, the 18-carat yellow gold medallion featuring a stamped fish motif and decorated with hand-painted green enamel adorns the screw-down caseback. It's a guarantee of water resistance and a nod to the first Conquest watches of the 1950s, which featured a fish for the steel models and a constellation of stars for the gold models. Each of these new models has a domed sunburst dial available in different colors: blue with rhodium-plated applied faceted indexes, green, brown and black with rose gold-plated applied faceted indexes, or silver with yellow gold-plated applied faceted indexes. The hour and minute hands, coated with Super-LumiNova, like the indexes, are rhodium-plated, in rose gold or yellow gold.
Each of these 50-meter water-resistant models is equipped with a caliber specially designed for the brand by ETA, the movement manufacturer of the Swatch Group, which includes Longines. This self-winding movement is equipped with a silicon balance spring and antimagnetic components to withstand the omnipresent magnets in our connected lives, which constantly undermine their daily precision. This caliber, promising up to 72 hours of power reserve, offers resistance to magnetic fields up to ten times greater than that required by the reference standard in this area. A stylish neo-vintage timepiece, each of these Conquest Heritage watches is offered with a stainless steel bracelet with a double safety folding clasp and micro-adjustment system, and a black or brown leather strap with a steel Heritage pin buckle.
