As part of the centenary of the Tase factory and its housing estates, the workers' memory festival returns this year on June 15, between the historic Autre Soie building in Villeurbanne and the industrial complex in Vaulx-en-Velin.

Between 1924 and 1925, a gigantic industrial site emerged from the barren lands south of the Jonage Canal, straddling Vaulx-en-Velin and Villeurbanne, around a main artery (today's Rue Alfred-de-Musset). Owned by the Gillet family, this chemical factory manufactured artificial textiles imitating silk at low cost.
