Lyon Metropolis. Centenary of the Tase factory and housing projects: an event not to be missed

Between 1924 and 1925, a gigantic industrial site emerged from the barren lands south of the Jonage Canal, straddling Vaulx-en-Velin and Villeurbanne, around a main artery (today's Rue Alfred-de-Musset). Owned by the Gillet family, this chemical factory manufactured artificial textiles imitating silk at low cost.

Far from Lyon due to industrial risks, the company, born from the genius of innovative entrepreneurs, produced viscose yarns for the entire world until 1980. The Vaud population, then settled in the north of the territory, mainly farmers, took advantage of it...
