Meeting with cetaceans, guided tour... What awaits you at the nautical event this Saturday in Sanary

There are a thousand ways to love the sea and enjoy its pleasures as much as its riches. In Sanary, Saturday will be dedicated to it through the event Faites du nautisme (Do Boating), which will invite visitors to embark from the port to discover the world of diving, observe marine wildlife, admire its splendors through art or practice nautical knots, but also to learn about possible conservation actions. On land, in the water, underwater or from the air, everything will be blue on Saturday!
To marvel...A close encounter with a breaching fin whale or a pod of playful dolphins always leaves a lasting impression. To help families experience this magical experience, Sanary Aventure Marine will offer sea excursions aboard RIBs and will present the species encountered during a lecture at 12:30 p.m.
Lydie, a fishing skipper and diving instructor, will be discussing the species visible underwater at 4 p.m., aboard her mini observation submarine Sanary Explorer, which will also be taking on curious visitors all day.
The Frédéric-Dumas Diving Museum will offer guided tours at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 3:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m., and 5:00 p.m. To get some height, Sanary Parachute will offer a salty discovery of the Sanary - Six-Fours Bay by parasailing! For those who prefer the ground, they can tie knots at the Sauveur Codretto (Sanary Pointus Association) seamanship stand or admire the superb photos of diver photographer Guillaume Ruoppolo on the port. Younger visitors can discover the sea while having fun through treasure hunts organized by the tourist office.
But loving the sea also means doing everything possible to preserve its biodiversity, as several associations will remind us. For example, the NGO OceaNOplastic is fighting plastic pollution by collecting waste on beaches, as is Benoît Schuman, founder of Project Rescue Ocean. This association, accredited by UNESCO and with nearly 50 branches worldwide, has set itself the goal of collecting 100 tons of wild waste per year, while educating children about preserving our planet through the Rescue Ocean Academy. This is a priority when you consider that the amount of plastic in the oceans is between 75 and 199 million tons, or 85% of marine waste (source: Ministry of Ecology).
