More than 1,300 spectators attended: a great success for the 24th flamenco festival in Gorbio

From August 15th to 17th, the village of Gorbio hosted the 24th edition of the Flamenco Festival , which was organized by the municipality with the support of the Gorbio Festival Committee. Now a must-see event on the Côte d'Azur, it once again brought together renowned artists this year, under the artistic direction of Isabel Cortes.

This year, the audience, which came in large numbers again (more than 1,300 people for the three evenings ), was able to rediscover Kuky Santiago, the Andalusian dancer with a powerful and distinguished style. He was accompanied by the young Franco-Spanish revelation Deyla Sofia who lit up the stage with her passion and freshness, Florence Deleria, a key figure in the Tchanelas group, and José Fernandez, a dancer from Marseille, and Lisa Carmen, alias Carmencika.

Around these magnificent dancers, the audience also discovered three voices, with Emilio Cortes, Luisa Munoz and Jesus De la Manuela, all united in the intensity of Flamenco.

A conquered public

Two magnificent musicians, Paco Carmona and Pépé Fernàndez, from two generations, with two sensibilities but with the same love of flamenco, accompanied dancers and singers. Together they offered a rich musical dialogue between memory and renewal.

In addition to the three evenings, the public was also able to participate on Friday, August 15, in the Flamenco mass which took place in the Saint-Barthélemy church, as well as in Flamenco dance workshops on Saturday and Sunday with Isabel Cortes.

It should be noted that the two paella evenings were a great success with more than 850 meals served ! A great success therefore for this 24th edition of the festival which, we have no doubt, should be on the program again in 2026 to celebrate its 25th anniversary!
