Is MIP dead, long live MIP?
"No, MIP is not dead. The first part of MIP consisted of the association setting up in a private, friendly place, and offering important exhibitions, giving young artists a chance, in front of an audience that didn't expect to discover exhibitions of this level, in a place like this. Like Man Ray, such an iconic artist in a bar was still worth points!"
Perhaps the surrealists would not have shunned this pleasure?
"I think Man Ray would have enjoyed exhibiting at the Marulaz during his lifetime. So no, the MIP isn't dead; it's even full of projects. The transfer of the Marulaz simply meant that I had to find a new location. And since the Bazar de Fanny, my partner's drugstore, had a 14th-century cellar... It's a bit of a return to my roots."
