Spanish singer Mafalda Cardenal sings about heartbreak with country accents

At 23, Mafalda Cardenal first found success in Mexico, thanks to TikTok, before seducing Spain, her native country. On her debut album, “Mis notas de voz,” released on April 25, she sings about her heartbreak in pop-folk ballads that resonate beyond her generation.

Released on April 25, the album follows a runaway success propelled on TikTok via Mexico, explains the Spanish daily El Mundo . “TikTok's algorithm carries very far. It took me all the way to Mexico,” the singer enthuses.

Originally from Alicante, on the east coast of Spain, the 23-year-old artist has indeed touched the hearts of thousands of people on both sides of the Atlantic, thanks to the social network that launched her after the viral cover of her song Tu fan by a Mexican user. She also highly recommends TikTok to young people who want to pursue a career in singing, but on the condition that they “prioritize music.”
