The Dream in Vézère Festival rhymes heritage and great classics

Combining the richness of heritage and Molière's plays is what the company Les compagnons d'Ulysse is offering from July 24 to August 13 at the Rêve en Vézère festival.
With the Ulysse company, the theater comes to your home, with the aim of "energizing rural life" through a program open to all audiences. The Rêve en Vézère festival is also an opportunity to celebrate local heritage.
The festival will begin this Thursday, July 24, at 8:30 p.m., at the Château de Peyraux, in Lardin-Saint-Lazare. "The King of Araucania" retraces the major episodes in the life of Antoine de Tounens, defender of the Mapuche people in South America, who made him their king. This play will be performed again on Tuesday, July 29 at 6:30 p.m. at the Tourtoirac gymnasium. The play will be followed by a gourmet market. On Friday, July 25, one of Molière's great classics, "The Imaginary Invalid," will be performed at 9 p.m. in Saint-Amand-de-Coly. The company will perform this play again on the Place de l'Hôtel-Dieu in Hautefort on Friday, July 31 at 9 p.m.
A rural one-man showMolière fans will have plenty to choose from throughout the festival. "The Misanthrope" will be presented on Thursday, July 30th at the Savignac-Lédrier forges, and on Saturday, August 1st at 9 p.m. in the gardens of La Bachellerie town hall. As for "Georges Dandin, Paysan Bourgeois," two dates are also scheduled: Saturday, August 8th at 9 p.m. at the Château des Charreaux in Hautefort, and Wednesday, August 13th, again at 9 p.m., on the church square in Ajat.
The company will explore the world of Jean de la Fontaine on Monday, July 28 and August 11 with the show "Let's Walk in the Fables" at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Château de Losse in Thonac. The show "Return to the Land," performed by Jean-Baptiste Siaussat, will be held on Wednesday, August 5 at 8:30 p.m. in the Lardin-Saint-Lazare market hall and on Friday, August 7 at 7:30 p.m. in Fossemagne. The final performance will be on Wednesday, August 12 at 9 p.m. at the Montagnac family farm in Hautefort.
On August 6, the Château de la Chapoulie will host “Rural Fables” at 7 p.m.
