Theater, dance, music... Here are the highlights of the cultural season in Valbonne

There are the major events that mark the seasons: "Enfantillages" in the autumn, "Le Printemps du Conservatoire" and the candlelit concerts - which, due to the work on the abbey, will move to the front of the Saint-Roch chapel -, then "Rue (z) et Vous" at the beginning of summer, without forgetting the Christmas magic gala (free), whose seats disappear in a few minutes except for subscribers.
And there are the surprises of the program, which this year aims to be diverse and daring, with nine other shows that promise to thrill, laugh, move and amaze, including a little tour of baroque Europe, in music, on October 10, on the top floor, usually closed, of the Center of Life of the Place Mejane, designed by the architect Pierre Fauroux.
Musical theatre and dark comedy, baroque concert or rock tribute, clowns and dancers... For Karine Chakir, delegate for Culture, finding, discovering and choosing artists and performances is a work of mixing and matching.
The organization's favorites"Music, dance, humor, social issues... there's something for everyone," she says.
To name her three favorites, she hesitates a little at first: "On Saturday, September 13, at 8 p.m., I recommend 'La Claque' by Fred Radix for the whole family. It takes place in 1895, on an old profession, being paid to applaud, treated with humor, finesse, and musicality. A subject and a character who have marked the history of theater. Then, on October 11, 'Madame Fraize', from the Avignon Festival 2024. A poetic interlude conducive to reflection, questioning, and offbeat humor. And 'A4, comme la feuille' by Philippe Lafeuille with the Cie Chicos Mambo, ultra-vitaminized, on Saturday, March 7. Dance, rap, circus, it's funny, clever, and touching."
