This French Riviera villa is in the running to become the French people's favorite monument

Who will be lucky enough to be voted the French people's favorite monument, an honorary title awarded by France 3 in a program of the same name presented by Stéphane Bern alongside the 42nd European Heritage Days?

For the fifth consecutive year, the French will be able to choose the monument that will represent their region from two proposals per region.

The 14 selected monuments will compete for the coveted title of France's Favorite Monument of 2025. The ranking and the winner will be revealed during a prime-time event at the start of the school year.

Who will succeed the 24 Hours of Le Mans circuit?

Last year's winner, the 24 Hours of Le Mans circuit awaits its successor. In the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, the battle will rage between the Ancient Amphitheater of Arles and the Villa Kérylos in Beaulieu-sur-Mer.

Located on the rocky point of the Baie des Fourmis in Beaulieu-sur-Mer, the Villa Kérylos was born from the collaboration between Théodore Reinach, a French archaeologist and statesman, fascinated by Greek civilization, and the architect Emmanuel Pontremoli.

Together, between 1902 and 1908, they built the Villa Kerylos, modelled on the noble houses of the 2nd century BC on the island of Delos in Greece.

The construction uses the finest materials: antique stucco, Carrara marble, and exotic woods for the furniture. The decoration is sumptuous: mosaics and frescoes inspired by famous scenes illustrate the great legends of the gods and classical heroes.

Listed as a Historic Monument in 1966, the Villa Kérylos is today an essential reference point for the knowledge and dissemination of Greek culture.
