Abel Ferrara in the round at 'La Punta della Lingua' in Jesi

A well-rounded Abel Ferrara, protagonist in Jesi (Ancona) of the 11th day of the XX edition of the Poetry Festival "The Tip of the Tongue". War, Ukraine, its films, its family and its past, since when arrived in Italy until his stay in Rome, the topics touched upon from the American director, screenwriter and actor: "the world seems to accept that people in Gaza are being killed," he concludes. "With my documentary film (2024's Turn In The Wound) I am went to Ukraine, it's hell". He read some of the epigrams by the poet Daniele Tinti taken from "Bloodletting. Incipit Tragoedia", published by La Nave di Teseo. A synergy, that of the director with the poet from Jesi who goes forward for a few years because "it's brilliant!", he emphasizes Ferrara. The exhibition saw the light in front of the suggestive "Deposition" by Lorenzo Lotto inside the Pinacoteca civica: "I feel the energy and power of this work of art". In front of the historic work, answering the questions of the public, we also talked about America and how artists have particular respect in Europe while much less Overseas: "there, for example, they don't call me Maestro", "they think that everyone can make movies" and it's all about business. Ferrara also answered a question about Trump's election: "they voted for him, we live in a democracy and now we're keeping him." The director recalled his Italian-American origins: "I am born in the Bronx, and it was full of Neapolitans and Apulians. I have not never seen a Venetian there". And then, his arrival in Italy several years ago: "I had problems and I wasn't well… For me, let's say it was a rebirth". "I started again almost from the same place where my grandfather left to come to America and this makes me happy". Followed by the screening of the historic film "Bad Lieutenant." The International Poetry Festival The Tip of the Tongue 2025 is the winner of the Fus 2025 call for Poetry Theatre.
