It also promoted the panel "Intelligens for Urban Regeneration" part of the public program of the Exhibition, hosted at the Speakers' Corner at the Corderie dell'Arsenale. A moment of discussion dedicated to the architectural project Nuvola Lavazza designed by architect Cino Zucchi and its role as a powerful player in urban regeneration in Turin. The panel was also the occasion to preview the film "Nuvola" conceived by Virginio Briatore and Francesca Molteni, directed by Luca Caon on the occasion of the 130th anniversary of the company. A story told by many voices in the company of Carlo Ratti, Cino Zucchi, Francesca Molteni and Francesca Lavazza, Board Member of the Lavazza Group, moderated by Professor Valerio Paolo Mosco.
"The aim of our support for the 2025 Biennale is to continue along a path that has seen us engaged for many years in addressing ESG issues through art and photography - says Francesca Lavazza, Board Member of the Group - In line with our Goal Zero, which aims to complement the SDGs and which since 2017 has spread the message of the 2030 Agenda to an increasingly wider audience, we are returning to Venice today on the occasion of the Company's 130th anniversary precisely to raise awareness and inspire people through art as a meeting place on the issues of social and environmental sustainability. The Biennale is the perfect place to stimulate dialogue between intellectuals from different fields - artists, scientists, architects - and is an opportunity for reflection on the search for universal human values and behaviors to protect nature".
" The Third Paradise Perspective" by Fondazione Pistoletto Cittadellarte Onlus - opens the 2025 Architecture Biennale with an immersive and symbolic installation: a flooded room, representing the sea level predicted for Venice in 2100, crossed by a passage in the shape of the Third Paradise, a symbol created by Michelangelo Pistoletto. This space introduces the visitor to a reflection on climate change and the collective responsibility in building a sustainable future, indicating in the Third Paradise a path towards new possible solutions. The environment, dominated by dark tones and an installation of air conditioners simulating future climate conditions, contrasts with the symbolic light of the Third Paradise, which guides the public towards a regenerative vision.
During the panel "Intelligens for Urban Regeneration" Professor Valerio Mosco accompanied the guests in an in-depth analysis of the importance of architectural integration in cities, private intervention in urban quality and coexistence in new work and community spaces.
Intelligence for Urban Regeneration. The urban coexistence of culturally heterogeneous communities, the recovery of post-industrial areas, the conception of new work spaces as places of community and permanence not only aimed at production, but also at the well-being of those who live there, are extremely current themes for the future of many cities and for the success of companies. Through the analysis of the Nuvola project, the headquarters of the Lavazza Group in Turin, a possible response to these challenges is proposed, told by the vision of the client, of which Francesca Lavazza is a part, and by the architect Cino Zucchi who conceived and created it.
On the occasion of the 130th anniversary of the Company, "Nuvola", a documentary film by Francesca Molteni, tells the story of the architectural project of Nuvola and the positive energy it brought to the Aurora district of Turin. An auteur feature film that photographs a year of life through the four seasons within the different spaces that compose it and that make it complementary to the surrounding neighborhood.
The Lavazza Group is also a supporter of the special projects of the Exhibition "Voice of Commons" and Canal Cafè". "Voice of Commons" is a collective project of Team Unless led by Giulia Foscari: a digital radio station hosted in the historic Biennale dei Giardini ticket office created by Carlo Scarpa, restored for the occasion. From this physical space, a voice is given to the global common goods of humanity, through a digital schedule of meetings, dialogues and reflections around the themes of safeguarding four Common Goods of Humanity: Antarctica, Oceans, Atmosphere and Outer Space/Cosmos.
"Canal Café", created by a multidisciplinary team that includes the New York design studio Diller Scofidio + Renfro, the chef Davide Oldani, technical experts from Natural Systems Utilities and SODAI, and the architecture critic Aaron Betsky is a project of phytoremediation of water through a hybrid system of natural and artificial purification that aims to reflect on the theme of the great challenge of the recovery of fresh water. Canal Café, at the end of the Corderie path, is a visionary laboratory, but will also guarantee a coffee break.
