At ScarpatettiArte, the works of patients being treated at the Asst

Art for all and art by all, open-air in what's considered the Montmartre of the capital. Some of the works created by patients and staff during the art therapy workshops at the Mental Health and Addiction Department of the ASST will also be on display today and tomorrow between Piazza Quadrivio and Via Scarpatetti during the ScarpatettiArte weekend.

The ability to express one's emotions and potential, discover and experiment with materials and techniques, and give voice to one's needs and desires are important aspects of the therapeutic-rehabilitative project and constitute a valid intervention to complement pharmacological and psychological therapies.

This year, the workshops will be held throughout the province, from Bormio to Chiavenna, led by three art therapists hosted by ASST thanks to an agreement with the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan. Acting will also be included in the art program, an integral part of the early detection of mental health issues in young people that mental health services are implementing.
