#LiberaConnessione, here are the winners of the first edition

by Massimiliano Craus

Jean-Georges Noverre, an enlightened reformer of dance and modern ballet, would certainly have approved the entire program of #LiberaConnessione. The World Dance Day was associated with him for the enlightenment of his reforms that still today mean the dance and ballet that we know. And that are probably experiencing a new revolutionary phase with the massive advent of new technologies. In this vein we find the #LiberaConnessione of Patrizia Campassi, visionary and far-sighted artistic director of this event and of Monferrato DanzArte that will enrich the summer season of Fubine Monferrato with the long-awaited date of July 12. But let's proceed in order, that is, with the winners of the very first edition of the @LiberaConnessione Award, the pioneers of the dance to come. Starting from the third place of “My Romeo and Juliet for Porto San Giorgio city” by Anna Sala from the Marche with 211 votes. The video tells a very important social theme, namely the preservation of a brick factory that for years has given work to many people and that will soon be demolished. Second place was awarded with 213 votes to “Koori” by the French Juliette Tellier. A professional dancer, director and videomaker, she presented her latest short film entirely shot on a beach in New Zealand. The winner of this first edition was finally “Radici”, produced by the Liceo Coreutico “Tito Livio” of Milan with 221 votes, as part of the ViMotion Project – New technologies applied to dance, directed by Alessandro Scaglione and Francesca Grimieri De Ioanni. Here the setting is precisely Monferrato, where the hills alternate with meadows and castles and movement is not only an individual gesture, but a way of getting in touch with the earth. It must not have been easy for the commission to choose the best three works. We know them, the guests and the judges who have embellished the #LiberaConnessione of Patrizia Campassi and the mayor of Fubine Monferrato Lino Pettazzi. Probably the guest of honor Elena Madan Vera, dancer, Cuban ballet master and former official repeater of Alicia Alonso's Cuban National Ballet. But also the President of the Jury Marilù Buzzi; Rossella Capriolo, Ballet Master and assistant to the choreographer Robert North; the director Lucio Laugelli; Alice Fornari, vice president of the Smoll Association; the video-maker Errico D'Andrea and Pietro Paolo Pagella, President of the ArteSuoni Association. With obviously the mayor of Fubine Lino Pettazzi in the spotlight, who took advantage of the prestigious occasion to announce the programming of Fubine Porta di Cultura and Monferrato DanzArte 2025. Not even the time to close the curtain that Patrizia Campassi has already turned her gaze to the near future. “After this wonderful day of dance – the artistic director concludes – I would like to remember those who made all this possible: in addition to Energica, we were supported by the Piedmont Region, the Province of Alessandria and the Cral Foundation of Alessandria. Now, however, we will meet on July 12 at the Teatro Municipale in Casale Monferrato where the Colline in Movimento 2025 will host the second edition of the Premio Monferrato DanzArte with Michele Merola’s Contemporary Dance Company on stage, the Semi D’Arte Scholarships, a gala with prestigious international dancers and the godmother and presenter Marta Gastini”. And the Energetica company did not wait to make a hot statement that everyone could hear live. Encouraging words from the Board of Directors of the “Energica” company Maurizio Paduano, representing the president Paolo Secco, who awarded the class of the Liceo Coreutico “Tito Livio” winner of the 1000 euros up for grabs. "We are strongly convinced - the Energetica Councilor specifies - that there is nothing more energetic than young people. Investing in young people means investing in the future. And if we want to build a better tomorrow, we must start with them, giving them tools, spaces and opportunities to express themselves and grow: the Energica company does this every day, making constant efforts especially in favor of those who want to take this path pursuing its same ideals and objectives like the ArteSuoni Association".
