"Amano Corpus Animae" showcases more than 130 works by a pillar of Japanese art, from Final Fantasy to anime, the connections of Western comics and fashion. And it extends its hand to an edition of Lucca Comics & Games that promises to be more international and rich than ever

An exploration of the infinite worlds of an artist who poured dreams and art onto paper, shaping the world of video games, animation, but also comics and contemporary art. After the success in Milan, the exhibition Amano Corpus Animae , organized by Lucca Comics & Games , here in collaboration with the Municipality of Rome , also in the setting of Palazzo Braschi celebrates the career of Yoshitaka Amano : a master endowed with a rare sensitivity, versatility and creativity, so much so that he is considered one of the greatest living illustrators. And the exhibition traces precisely this: the body and the soul, the figurative art, the Japanese aesthetic and the Western contaminations, in a visionary, intense and refined narration.

From his legendary works for Final Fantasy (for which he was a character designer) to his more intimate and conceptual recent works, Amano Corpus Animae stages a visual reflection on spirituality, identity and the border between reality and dreams, in the artistic journey of a sensei who has always dared and positioned himself beyond artistic conventions, experimenting and pushing himself a little further each time.

And after the great success of this exhibition, the director (also called Dungeon Master, just like in a role-playing game) of Lucca Comics & Games Emanuele Vietina tells how this reality, now a solid point of reference for Italian culture, is already looking ahead by raising the bar once again: first the Expo in Osaka, where it will be present in the Italian pavilion, and then the 2025 edition, entitled “French Kiss” . An edition that promises to be even more international, with a lineup of amazing guests and a main theme, that of the kiss, which will see as its cornerstone a valorization of French art at three hundred and sixty greats. But not only that, because once again all the universes that distinguish this festival will be present, from manga to role-playing games, cinema and comics, and obviously the world of video games which will see the presence of a guest who has particularly startled thousands of fans: that "video game director" called Hideo Kojima who has decided to include Lucca in his world tour for the launch of Death Stranding 2, among cities with millions of inhabitants.

Between the Amano Corpus Animae exhibition and the new objectives, therefore, the dissemination of the “pop culture” of Lucca Comics & Games continues to consolidate more and more, each time creating indissoluble connections between art and the communities of enthusiasts and confirming itself not only as a great cultural event, but as an opportunity to truly experience the contemporary imagination, in all its forms.
