Alejandro Fernández will donate concert proceeds to flood victims in Texas.

Mexican singer Alejandro Fernández announced that he will donate a portion of the proceeds from his upcoming concerts in the United States to support the victims of the recent floods in Texas, a tragedy that left more than 100 dead and at least 160 people missing following the intense rains over the weekend.
The artist, recognized for his career in regional Mexican music, will donate funds from his performances in Fort Worth on September 6 and El Paso on September 7. The funds will go to help families affected by the rains in Kerry County, located outside of San Antonio, where two Mexican citizens were confirmed dead.
"As an artist, I've always sought to bring hope through my music; as a father, this tragedy at Camp Mystic breaks my heart," Fernández said in a statement cited by media outlets such as Billboard, the Houston Chronicle, and Remezcla.
"That's why I want to dedicate my concerts in Ft. Worth and El Paso to all the families who are experiencing this pain, and I want to do whatever I can to help and make a donation to support them," he added.
The donation will go to Catholic Charities of San Antonio , which is coordinating humanitarian relief efforts in counties declared under emergency conditions due to the rains and flooding.
Last weekend , Shakira also announced that she would donate money to the same organization after arriving in San Antonio on Saturday, where the Colombian singer rescheduled her show at the Alamodome, part of her "Women Don't Cry Anymore" world tour.
Alejandro Fernández is launching his "De Rey a Rey" tour in tribute to his father, the late ranchera icon Vicente Fernández. This August, he will tour Spain before performing in Fort Worth, El Paso, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Sacramento, and San Diego, among other U.S. cities, in September.
