Eleven children poisoned with methamphetamine and fentanyl at a Sinaloa elementary school.

CULIACÁN, Sinaloa (apro).- At least 11 minors were poisoned after consuming food contaminated with methamphetamine and fentanyl, according to laboratory studies shown by parents to TV Azteca Culiacán.
The poisoning occurred in San Diego, a rural community located south of Culiacán and part of the new municipality of Eldorado. The children were poisoned during a Children's Day celebration at an elementary school in the town.
Initially, there was talk of contaminated candy, but parents' versions suggest it was caused by hibiscus water served at the event.
This information was confirmed by the Secretary General of the Government, Feliciano Castro, although he did not reveal the cause of the poisoning of the minors.
According to TV Azteca Culiacán, the minors' families filed a complaint and asked authorities to visit the school to conduct toxicology tests on the rest of the affected students, as there are reports that more than 26 children were affected by the contaminated water.
In Sinaloa, in rural areas between Culiacán and Cosalá, more than 400 clandestine laboratories have been seized since February 18, allegedly used to produce synthetic drugs such as methamphetamine and fentanyl, in particular.
