The Government makes appointments against the clock in historic institutions

The appointment of Fernando Ferreyra to head the National Monuments Commission was confirmed, and the names of the members of the Ad Honorem Council will be announced today, as obtained by Clarín . They are: María del Carmen Magaz, Juan Vacas (who was already a member of the Commission), Graciela Caceres, Cristina Vera, Horacio Savoia, Patricia Mariño, Rafael Montes de Oca, Martín Orduna, Fernando Martínez Nespral, and Jorge Mallo.
Fernando Ferreyra was confirmed as president of the National Monuments Commission.
According to reliable sources to which we had access, "the idea was to give this Council a more federal and excellent character ." The salient fact is that Alberto Petrina, a long-time member of the Monuments Commission, was removed from the organization.
Everything indicates that, given his experience on the Commission, the ad hoc coordinator would be Juan Vacas, who served on the previous Commission and was Undersecretary of Urban Landscape in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.
Martínez Nespral is the professor of History at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Buenos Aires (FADU). Meanwhile, Horacio Savoia was one of the historians who most defended the Christopher Columbus monument, a donation from the Italian government to Argentina, when former President Cristina Kirchner sent it to Costa Norte and replaced it with the Juana Azurduy monument, now located in front of the Palacio Libertad.
Martín Orduna is director of the Metropolitan Area Transportation Studies Center and an expert on the history of Argentine transportation and railways. María del Carmen Magaz holds a PhD in history and a bachelor's degree in art history. She also specializes in sculptures and monuments in the country.
Councilor Graciela Caceres is also an architect specializing in the conservation of historic buildings. Meanwhile, Patricia Mariño is from Corrientes and works as an architect. She also holds a master's degree in architectural and urban heritage management and intervention.
Rafael Montes de Oca is an architect and antiquities expert, as well as a specialist in heritage restoration and conservation.
Jorge Mallo has always worked in the fields of design and architecture, which is his profession. He has also been a curator and heritage consultant at the Historical Institute of the City of Buenos Aires.
Cristina Vera holds a PhD in history and is a member of the Board of Historical Studies of Córdoba. Her research has been published in Argentina and Colombia.
