British band Iron Maiden at Estádio da Luz in 2026

British band Iron Maiden at Estádio da Luz in 2026

British band Iron Maiden will perform at Estádio da Luz in Lisbon on July 7 next year , one year after their performance at MEO Arena, also in the Portuguese capital, the promoter announced today.

The concert will take place as part of the “Run For Your Lives” tour, the same as the most recent stop in Lisbon, as the band “is loving” the tour.

"The fans have been incredible, the lineup is perfect for the 50th anniversary, the show is probably our best ever, and ticket demand has been extraordinary, with virtually everything sold out and over a million fans in attendance. So, we thought we should do a few more shows in Europe before moving on to other parts of the world," said bassist Steve Harris, quoted in a statement.

In the same press release, the British band's manager, Rod Smallwood, expressed his satisfaction that "the vast majority of fans" had respected the request "to severely limit the use of mobile phones at concerts, ideally keeping them in their pockets throughout the performance, especially in the standing areas in front of the stage."

“Unfortunately there were exceptions, but overall, the understanding and cooperation of the fans made a colossal difference to the atmosphere of each concert, greatly increasing the enjoyment of the band and the audience,” he added.

Founded in 1975, British band Iron Maiden have been a regular presence in Portugal. Bassist Steve Harris even owned a bar in Faro for over 20 years, and the band even headlined the 2011 edition of the Algarve capital's Motorcycle Rally.

Iron Maiden's first album with Bruce Dickinson on vocals, "The Number of the Beast" (1982), definitively projected them to the forefront of the musical genre, being the authors of multiple metal classics such as "Somewhere in Time" and "Fear of the Dark".

Tickets – priced between 65 and 90 euros, according to the SL Benfica website – will be available for pre-sale at FNAC stores for 24 hours on September 23, with general sales starting on the 27th.
