Crossing of arts marks cultural program

The Arts and Entertainment Centre (CAE) is preparing a vibrant cultural programme for this month and the next, combining music, theatre, dance, creative workshops and philosophical thought. Highlights include concerts by renowned national artists, theatre performances with a strong historical and social impact, contemporary dance and creative workshops that invite artistic experimentation and sensory discovery. Between the 21st and 23rd of June, and also on the 11th and 12th of June, during school hours, Adriana Campos will combine art and thought in a workshop-show, with the children of the 1st cycle of the municipality, to reflect on fundamental questions through the eyes of a child.
The range of cultural diversity will be opened on the 24th for the mediation and promotion of reading through the program Poetics and Narratives. This program includes, at 9.30 am, a literary and performance tour through the streets of the town of Sever do Vouga; at 3 pm, there will be reading moments on the doorsteps of CAE's neighbors; at 4 pm, there will be a meeting with the writer Susana Amaro Velho and the presentation of her most recent book “Descansos”; at 6.30 pm, the photography exhibition by José Silva from Sever do Vouga and the works resulting from the creative writing workshops will be inaugurated; and finally, at 9.30 pm, Amélia Bentes will take to the stage to present “Crystal”, a performance she will perform with the dancers Nuno Velosa, Joana Teixeira and Sofia Lopes. Visually powerful and inspired by the writing of Clarice Lispector, the artist explores fragility, strength and transformation through the feminine gaze and the body in movement.
