Daniela Mercury opens AgitÁgueda 2025 festival, which is expected to attract over 1 million visitors
In addition to Daniela Mercury, the highlights of the lineup are Fernando Daniel (day 11), Jorge Guerreiro (day 15), Diogo Piçarra and Father Guilherme (day 19), Quinta do Bill (DAY 20), and Delfins (day 26), closing the festival with a fireworks display.

Daniela Mercury will open Agitágueda on July 5th, a festival with 23 days of concerts and events, which is expected to receive more than a million visitors, with an investment of 1.1 million euros, the organization announced. With a diverse artistic program and free entry, in a colorful Águeda with umbrellas and animated by living statues, the event is described as a festival for families. In addition to Daniela Mercury, the highlights of the lineup include Fernando Daniel (day 11), Jorge Guerreiro (day 15), Diogo Piçarra and Father Guilherme (day 19), Quinta do Bill (day 20), and Delfins (day 26), closing the festival with a fireworks display. “Agitágueda is now in another dimension”, considers the Mayor of Águeda, Jorge Almeida, recounting that “a few years ago Águeda did not have a strong tourist component and today it hosts crowds, with the colorful umbrella as its trademark”. More than five thousand multi-coloured umbrellas will be hung on the streets, in a festival that also has urban art as a component, and small events, involving around 36 local associations. In the 2024 edition, 61 nationalities of origin were identified among the 940 thousand visitors, which leads Jorge Almeida to say that “Águeda is increasingly a world city and AgitÁgueda contributes to this”. “The 2025 edition “will continue the growth trend that has followed since the first edition”, predicted the mayor, at the presentation of the festival. Edson Santos, vice-president of the municipality who has been directly involved in the organization, says that “expectations are always very high, and this is also the responsibility of the Municipality”, as it is an event “participated by the entire city”.

“It has a fantastic impact and for every euro invested there is a return of 6.5%, which means it will generate around eight million euros in the local economy and beyond, because the hotel and restaurant industry in neighbouring municipalities will also benefit”, he said, referring to a study carried out for the local authority on the impact of the festival.
