This year , concentrated in a single weekend, Ágora combines music, performing arts, and installations in an invitation for "the public to discover and rediscover Leiria Castle from different perspectives," according to the organization.
One of the names already confirmed is Abdullah Miniawy, who brings to Leiria the show 'The evens, Rahma', where "the wind instruments stretch time in a fragile way, floating between the songs of birds and the sound of the Indian flute".
Alongside the Egyptian artist, Castelo de Leiria will also host Tó Trips & Fake Latinos, the new project by the Dead Combo guitarist, which includes Alexandre Frazão, António Quintino and Helene Espvall, who will present the album 'Dissidente'.
The lineup, which has not yet been fully announced, also includes the band Memória de Peixe, which recently released the album 'III', percussionist and composer Pedro Almiro, and Raquel André, who brings to Leiria a show where music and image intersect.
The Ágora initiative is the result of a partnership between the production company Omnichord and the municipality of Leiria and aims to make Leiria Castle the stage for a series of artistic proposals that promote the monument as "a meeting place between the present and what is yet to come", highlights the organization.
Entry to the various events is included in the standard ticket to visit Leiria Castle, which is free for residents of the municipality.
