Festival Sul em Dança celebrates its 21st edition with a week of attractions at the FIERGS Theater in Porto Alegre

The Sul em Dança festival celebrates its 21st edition in 2025 with a program full of attractions and educational activities. The event will take place from May 13 to 18 at the traditional FIERGS Theater, in Porto Alegre, and will bring together schools, groups and dancers from different regions of the country in a true celebration of art and social transformation through dance.

With the theme "Celebrating dance, transforming lives", the festival reaffirms its role as a platform for inclusion, education and cultural appreciation. The program includes competitive performances, shows open to the public, school exhibitions, workshops and a lecture dedicated to accessibility.

The idealization and direction are signed by Margit Kolling, from Arte&Ideias Gestão e Produção, who highlights the transformative role of the event:

"South in Dance is not just a festival, but a space of opportunities, where talents emerge and dance acts as an agent of change."

13/05 (Tuesday): Assembly of the structure and tests

14/05 (Wednesday), at 7pm: Official opening and Jazz, Contemporary Dance and Freestyle competitions

15/05 (Thursday), at 5pm: "Little Talents" Show and Classical Ballet, Jazz and Contemporary Dance competitions

16/05 (Friday), at 5pm: "Movimento 40+" Show and Urban Dance and Urban Contemporary competitions

05/17 (Saturday), at 4pm: Second edition of "Pequenos Talentos" and competitions focusing on Freestyle and Urban Dances

18/05 (Sunday):

2:00 pm: Student dance performances and social projects

3:00 pm: Lecture "Dance for All: The Importance of Physical and Communicational Accessibility"

4pm: Solo and duo shows and competitions in the Jazz and Contemporary Dance categories, as well as the awards ceremony
