Works by researchers António Leandro and Maria Clara de Paiva Vide Marques will be launched tomorrow at Casa da Alameda

Tomorrow at 4:30 p.m., the Municipality of Albergaria-a-Velha will present, at the Tourist Office/Exhibition Space – Casa Alameda, the book "Retabular Art in the Parish Churches of the Municipality of Albergaria-a-Velha," by researchers António Leandro and Maria Clara de Paiva Vide Marques. The municipality boasts a vast and valuable artistic and religious heritage, with its churches preserving within them "a legacy of great richness": sacred art "that reveals centuries of devotion, creativity and community identity."

Published in book form, the study focuses on the analysis of the different altarpieces in gilded and polychrome woodcarving that adorn the interior spaces of eight religious buildings: Parish Church of Santa Cruz (Albergaria-a-Velha), Parish Church of Santa Marinha (Alquerubim), Parish Church of Our Lady of the Snows (Angeja), Parish Church of São Vicente (Branca), Parish Church of São Paio (Frossos), Parish Church of São João Batista (São João de Loure), Parish Church of São Tiago (Ribeira de Fráguas) and Church of Santa Eulália (Valmaior).
