According to the president of the Belmonte Municipal Company, Joaquim Costa, the show, which closes the event at 10:30 pm, will take place "on a natural stage, which is the Belmonte Castle", and the ticket costs five euros.
One of the new features of this edition is that the entire venue will be fenced off and entrance fees will be charged.
The general ticket for the four days costs six euros and includes a clay cup, while the daily ticket is sold for two euros.
Another new feature is a medieval equestrian gala on Saturday at 11 pm.
There will be 25 exhibitors at the event spread throughout the venue, where various activities and shows are scheduled on different stages.
Joaquim Costa emphasized that what makes the Belmonte Medieval Fair (Castelo Branco district) different is that it is always linked to the town's history.
There were editions in which the theme was Jewish culture and several in which the Cabrais family was addressed.
This year the theme is the legend of the Soldier's Fountain, according to which a noblewoman defended the castle by fighting a soldier, who lost his head.
The president of the Belmonte Municipal Company emphasized that the event is also different from the others because, whoever visits the municipality, "can visit the town, which is an open museum: every street, every stone has a story to tell."
"Those who come have the opportunity to visit the museums, the monuments, the synagogue, the medieval area, and the old Jewish quarter. They always have the opportunity to learn more about Belmonte's history culturally," Joaquim Costa emphasized in a statement to the Lusa news agency.
The official emphasized that, over the course of 20 years, the Belmonte Medieval Fair has helped to boost the local economy and promote the municipality, with an impact throughout the rest of the year.
Joaquim Costa emphasized that the 400 beds available in the municipality have long been full and that there has also been demand in hotels in surrounding municipalities.
"Right here we are helping the local economy, which is also an objective," he stressed.
Belmonte Medieval begins on Thursday at 7:00 pm with the Historical Parade through the Town and the opening of the market.
