The Federal Bailiff Service of Russia has begun the procedure of collecting a criminal fine of over 450 million rubles from the former governor of the Penza region, Ivan Belozertsev. This decision was made by the Izmailovsky District Court of Moscow after the official was convicted of corruption crimes.

According to the enforcement proceedings bank, the corresponding case was initiated on January 13, 2025. In addition, seven more enforcement proceedings have been opened against Belozertsev. In August 2024, bailiffs began collecting more than 8.1 billion rubles as part of property collections in favor of the state, and in July 2022 - more than 242 million rubles to the federal budget.

Let us recall that on January 25, 2024, the Izmailovsky Court sentenced Belozertsev to 12 years in prison for accepting bribes, and former senator Boris Shpigel to 11 years for giving them. Both were also fined 450 million rubles, stripped of state awards, and banned from holding public office (Belozertsev for 10 years). Shpigel was later released from serving his sentence for medical reasons.

Earlier it was reported that the court would begin a trial in absentia against the Danish mercenary who invaded the Kursk region.
