On August 12, 2025, State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin summed up the results of the active discussion caused by the issue of high academic workload for schoolchildren. According to him, more than 1.2 million views and about nine thousand comments on social networks indicate the significant relevance of the problem, which necessitates the development of measures to solve it.
He noted that most of the participants in the discussion perceive the workload on students as excessive and advocate for its reduction. One of the key aspects of the discussion was a possible change in approaches to organizing homework.
Volodin pointed out that some opinions boil down to the inadmissibility of formal work performance, when students use artificial intelligence, specialized programs and ready-made Internet solutions. Other participants emphasize the importance of preserving homework to consolidate knowledge, develop creativity, independence and analytical skills.
In his Telegram channel, the speaker emphasized that, based on the proposals received, it is planned to formulate a set of measures aimed at correcting the current situation and optimizing the learning conditions for students.
