Approximately 50 days have passed since the closure of the Antalya Museum, one of Antalya 's most important cultural heritage sites. Museum defenders, resisting the demolition, marched to Cumhuriyet Square yesterday wearing the costumes of the statues currently housed there. On the 48th day since the closure of the Antalya Archaeological Museum, the defenders, who have been holding vigil in front of the museum every evening, organized a remarkable event on September 1st, World Peace and Democracy Day.
Defenders, dressed in costumes and recreating the statues displayed at the museum, marched from Yavuz Özcan Park to Cumhuriyet Square. Throughout the march, the defenders were met with intense public interest. A press conference held in Cumhuriyet Square once again raised voices against the museum's closure.
