Artist Alpay Şalt will celebrate his birthday with a concert for nature

Drummer Alpay Şalt, who has been a presence in Türkiye's alternative and mainstream music scene for over 40 years, will celebrate his birthday with a concert this year, donating the proceeds to tree planting efforts. The event, titled "Birthday Marathon '25," is a symbolic three-hour performance.

Alpay Şalt stated that the concert was aimed at supporting nature, reminding everyone that he has been soliciting donations of saplings for years from those wishing to receive birthday gifts. Şalt emphasized the importance of reforestation in areas lost to forest fires and said that the concert proceeds would be converted into donations.

Throughout the performance, the artist will perform classic songs from Thin Lizzy, Motörhead, and Iron Maiden, all bands with significant roles in rock music history, along with three separate tribute bands. Donors will receive sapling certificates, each named after the band whose work was performed.

Şalt stated that these groups inspired his own musical journey and that the event aims to contribute to nature through music.

The event aims to raise awareness about environmental issues while offering a concert experience to music lovers.
