Pekinel International Masterclass begins at AKM

The Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM) is hosting the " Pekinel International Masterclass " from September 6th to 12th. Led by Güher and Süher Pekinel , siblings known for their innovative projects and performing concerts around the world as Turkey's promotional ambassadors throughout their careers, the "Pekinel International Masterclass" aims to open new horizons for young musicians.

The instructors who will teach the course are internationally recognized artists who have worked with major orchestras, continue to teach at prestigious universities, and have earned a special place in the music world through their impressive stage performances. These instructors, who make a difference not only through their students but also through their own artistic lives, bring to the stage various categories of classical music and the stages of improvisation with their diverse perspectives.

This program also includes a " Bach Jazz " approach that will appeal to young people. The course delves into improvisation, bringing together different layers of music, and aims to enrich young musicians' musical repertoire through a creative approach.

The courses, held at the AKM Theater Hall, will be crowned with a concert at the Türk Telekom Opera Hall on the evening of September 12. The aim is for the filming of the course to be shared with conservatories and music lovers after the event, providing a resource for young talent by sharing diverse experiences.

The masterclass will be led by Prof. Dr. Markus Becker . In addition to his academic duties at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover, Becker is also known as a concert pianist. Becker, who has garnered attention for his concerts in leading international series and recordings with prestigious record labels, distinguishes himself with his classical music repertoire, as well as chamber music, improvisation, and jazz classes. This workshop, a first in Turkey, will appeal not only to musicians but also to a broad audience.
