All About Charli XCX’s Classic Round Diamond Engagement Ring and Non-Traditional Wedding Band

All About Charli XCX’s Classic Round Diamond Engagement Ring and Non-Traditional Wedding Band

THE RUNDOWN

  • Charli XCX debuted her wedding stack in July 2025, pairing her round diamond solitaire engagement ring with a chunky band.
  • Charli’s engagement ring is very traditional, jewelers tell ELLE, while her wedding band is a more unique choice.
  • The jewelers tell ELLE the engagement ring appears to be between 1–2 carats and worth at least $7,000.

Charli XCX got married over the weekend and debuted her wedding stack. While the star hasn’t posted many close-up photos of her jewelry, paparazzi captured the first glimpse of the rings when she and her new husband were seen outside of their wedding at Hackney Town Hall. Her engagement ring appears to be a timeless choice: a round solitaire diamond.

Her wedding band, meanwhile, is more modern. It “seems chunkier, bolder, and less traditional,” Steph Mazuera, who founded her own namesake brand that creates made-to-order engagement rings, tells ELLE. “I often tell clients, if you’re unsure what kind of engagement ring to commit to, go classic, and get more creative with your band or stack later. That seems to be exactly what Charli has done.”

Charli hasn’t spoken much about her engagement ring, though she did tell Howard Stern in October 2024 that she wears another ring with it because it’s big on her. Stern asked if she was already married, and she replied, “No, I just didn’t get [my engagement ring] resized, so I have to put a ring on top of it so it doesn’t fall off.”

Here, jewelers tell ELLE what to know about Charli’s wedding stack.

Charli’s round solitaire diamond engagement ring isn’t a trend-driven design.

“The round shape is very classic,” Lauren Boc, founder and CEO of Hera Fine Jewelry, tells ELLE. “I really love round diamonds, but at Hera, we don’t sell a whole lot of them! Elongated shapes like oval and emerald cut are more popular with our clients right now.”

Mazuera says Charli’s solitaire appears to be set in platinum or white gold setting. “Her diamond is beautifully proportioned on her finger in a very classic setting and looks to be a very high color and clarity, giving it a bright and icy sparkle,” Mazuera adds.

Charli’s diamond isn’t giant, but it still has a high price tag. “I’d estimate the diamond at 1 to 1.5 carats,” Boc says. “Assuming this is a mined diamond of exceptional quality, it could be worth $15,000 to 20,000.”

Mazuera, meanwhile, puts the ring at “about 1 carat, valued at roughly $7,000 to $10,000 depending on the stone’s quality.”

And Ann Grimmett, Jared Jewelers’ vice president of merchandising, believes the diamond is a little bigger: 1.5 to 2 carats. “Its value can range widely depending on color and clarity, but I estimate that it’s between $15,000 to $30,000,” she tells ELLE.

Charli’s engagement ring truly is as classic as they come, down to the setting.

“The setting is traditional and very minimalist, something that might surprise people coming from Charli, who’s known for being bold and playful,” Mazuera says. “There’s nothing wrong with a classic solitaire, though. It’s so timeless that I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s an heirloom or holds sentimental value.”

Boc agrees: “The design is very traditional. For a celebrity, it’s very simple with a relatively small diamond size...That’s not a criticism, though, I love it! This ring will fit really well into her daily life. It’s going to be a lot more comfortable to wear than a 10-plus carat diamond rings that a lot of celebrities have.”

The style also pairs well with other jewelry: “It’s a classic look that gives her a lot of flexibility to pair it with different rings to make a variety of stacking looks,” Grimmett says.

To Boc, Charli’s band looks like a “wide band with a twisted design.”

“You can see there’s some negative space where different lines of metal are overlapping. Her engagement ring is designed to stack flush with a wedding band, and you can see that they stack together well,” she says. “I always like it when our clients choose a wedding band that’s a lot wider than their engagement ring. It creates a bold, unusual look and makes this classic engagement ring look a little more unique and less traditional.”

It’s hard to guess its value without a closer look at the ring, Boc says, but it’s likely worth thousands of dollars. “A solid band without any diamonds could be around $2,000, but if it’s got a lot of large diamonds on it, the value would be much higher.”

Grimmett believes that Charli chose “a wider platinum look [that] would range somewhere around $2,000 to $3,000.” A ring like that can be worn “with or without her engagement ring, giving her more flexibility with everyday life and performance life. She is really emphasizing the trend of fashion meets bridal meets fashion.”

Charli XCX stacking her engagement ring with another ring before she got married.

Charli told Howard Stern that her engagement ring was too big and she wore a separate ring to keep it on. A second band is a fine temporary solution, Mazuera says: “In a pinch, stacking your ring with one that fits tighter can offer some protection by helping anchor the ring in place and preventing it from spinning or sliding off.”

But Boc cautions that there are limits to this method: “Stacking a second ring next to it will make both rings fit a little bit tighter, but it’s pretty negligible unless the total ring stack gets over 5 mm or so. This method will keep the ring on your finger, but it will probably still feel loose and spin or fall over, which isn’t very comfortable long-term. You can see Charli’s ring is still falling over to the side in photos, even with that second band. It’s best to make sure the ring really does fit correctly, so it’s comfortable and can still be worn by itself if you want.”

She and Mazuera recommend having the ring resized as a better permanent fix.

“For long-term comfort and peace of mind, it’s always worth checking with a trusted jeweler to find the best fit solution,” Mazuera says. “If your ring is too large for your finger, I would always opt to have your engagement ring resized as soon as possible. Wearing the correct ring size is so important to both comfort and security. Of course if the ring was a surprise, you can’t always get the sizing exactly right. This is why I offer complimentary post-proposal resizing within a size or two for all engagement rings.”

There can be challenges resizing certain rings, she adds: “Some rings are more difficult to resize than others, especially styles with intricate engraving or diamonds all the way around the band, like eternity rings. In those cases, resizing might compromise the design or structural integrity. Even if a ring can’t be cut or stretched, there are still great alternatives. Jewelers can add small sizing beads or a thin strip of metal inside the band to help it fit more snugly and comfortably. These solutions are especially helpful if your finger size fluctuates or you prefer not to alter the original design. In Charli’s case, it looks like her ring is perfectly safe to be resized, and I’m sure she’s had it resized already!”

Boc points out, “Eternity bands, which have diamonds all the way around, cannot be resized—we never recommend them to our clients at Hera for this reason. Bands with patterns or exterior engraving all the way around can be resized, but it often leaves a seam or imperfection at the area where the ring was altered, which some people may not be okay with.”

She adds that even with Charli’s wedding band, it’s “really hard to say“ if it’s enough protection on its own, but it surely has made a difference.

“It’s unpredictable how much stacking a second band will change the fit. That depends a lot on the width of the full stack together as well as the person’s anatomy,” she says. “Our clients typically don’t find that a wedding band really changes the way their rings fit very much. It’s most common with wide wedding bands that create a stack over roughly 5 mm in width. Her new twisted wedding band is pretty wide, so it’s possible that the stack fits correctly now.”

Charli’s classic engagement ring and modern wedding band “blend old and new in a really beautiful way,” Mazuera says. “It doesn’t feel overly curated or try-hard. It’s cool in that effortless, understated way that totally mirrors her personal style.”

“One of the biggest shifts in bridal jewelry right now is toward pieces that reflect individual style rather than follow a singular aesthetic,” she adds. “Her stack feels true to her, and that kind of authenticity is what’s setting the tone in engagement and wedding jewelry today.”

Boc adds that Charli’s ring is unexpected—but in an exciting way. “A relatively small diamond in a very traditional setting is kind of unexpected for a celebrity, and I hope it shows people that they don’t need to worry about conforming to expectations.”
