Everything to Know About Lana Del Rey’s New Album, The Right Person Will Stay
preview for Lana Del Rey Reveals Taylor Swift 'Snow On The Beach' Collab Story | All About Me | Harper's BAZAAR

It’s time to break out your flower crowns and vintage lace dresses. Lana Del Rey has revealed details of her tenth studio album, The Right Person Will Stay, set for release on May 21. Del Rey took to Instagram to announce the news in November 2024, confirming the album will feature 13 original tracks created in collaboration with familiar names, including Jack Antonoff, Zach Dawes, Drew Erickson, and Luke Laird.

The new album announcement came after months of speculation about Del Rey’s previously teased country-inspired project Lasso, which the singer first mentioned at the 2024 Billboard x NMPA Songwriter Awards. Although Del Rey initially leaned toward a classic country sound for the project, she later reconsidered the direction, explaining to Vogue Italia in October 2024 that the Americana-driven aesthetic of Lasso felt disconnected from her current identity.

“I stopped because I didn’t recognize myself. I would like this album to be a reflection of the person I am today,” Del Rey explained. Instead, she hinted that the upcoming album would adopt a more nuanced, “Southern gothic” style—rich, yet authentic to her evolving artistic journey.

Was the album’s title changed?

The new title, The Right Person Will Stay, is a poetic pivot away from its earlier iteration as Lasso. While some fans might miss the original cowboy-inspired narrative, the new title suggests a deeper, introspective exploration, potentially influenced by recent life changes, including Del Rey’s marriage to Jeremy Dufrene.

When will The Right Person Will Stay be released?

The album is set to officially drop on May 21, 2025. Ahead of the release, Del Rey is sharing a few singles, starting with the “Henry, Come On,” which she initially teased on Instagram in January 2024. The song embodies a gentler theme, fitting neatly into Del Rey’s signature dreamy Americana aesthetic.

On March 26, 2025, Del Rey further excited fans by sharing a new revealing the “Henry, Come On” cover art. The release date of the single is still unknown.

How many tracks are on the album?

The Right Person Will Stay includes 13 tracks. The tracklist hasn’t been released yet, though we assume “Henry, Come On” will be included.

Del Rey is taking her time with the new music. “I think all the songs have been Americana,” she explained to People in October 2024. However, she chose to wait rather than rush to release something that felt incomplete or “half-cooked.”

Moreover, the involvement of country producer Luke Laird—famed for his collaborations with artists like Kacey Musgraves and Carrie Underwood—suggests subtle country influences might have been woven throughout the record.

As Del Rey prepares to headline California’s Stagecoach festival in April and embark on a U.K. and Ireland stadium tour in June, the coming months could hold more reveals and glimpses into this new chapter of her music.

What other albums has Del Rey released?

This release marks Del Rey’s tenth studio album, following a critically acclaimed discography that includes Born to Die (2012), Ultraviolence (2014), Honeymoon (2015), Lust for Life (2017), Norman Fucking Rockwell! (2019), Chemtrails Over the Country Club (2021), Blue Banisters (2021), and Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd (2023).
