On August 27, Gomez reposted Swift and Travis Kelce’s engagement announcement to her Instagram Stories, writing “When bestie gets engaged 🥰.” She paired the post with Queen’s classic track “You’re My Best Friend.”

The actress and singer also highlighted a nostalgic moment from nearly two decades ago. In 2009, Swift wrote to Gomez on Twitter, “Real love still happens sometimes. It’s not just something we make up when we’re nine. I have to believe that. You do too.”

Gomez re-shared a side-by-side image showcasing that message alongside photos from both of their recent engagement posts, highlighting how the moment had come full-circle.

Swift and Kelce revealed their engagement with a joint Instagram post on August 26. The caption read, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨.”

The singer’s engagement ring, shown in one of the photos, is a custom Artifex Fine Jewelry design. Experts estimate the cushion-cut diamond—set on an intricate gold band with side stones—is between seven and nine carats and valued at up to a half-million dollars. The vintage-inspired details give the piece what jewelers have described as “an heirloom look.”

Kelce’s father, Ed Kelce, later revealed that the NFL tight end proposed a couple of weeks before the official announcement. He kept it intimate, asking Swift to marry him in the garden at his home in Missouri before the two FaceTimed their families to share the news.

Gomez, meanwhile, announced her own engagement to producer Benny Blanco in December 2024, captioning her post, “Forever begins now.”
