Taylor Swift and Kylie Kelce’s Complete Friendship Timeline

THE RUNDOWN
- Taylor Swift met her future sister-in-law, Kylie Kelce, in January 2024.
- Since then, they’ve been spotted together at NFL games and family celebrations.
- The two have quietly developed a friendship and celebrated milestones in each other’s lives.
Taylor Swift might live her life in the public eye, but she’s known to be protective of her personal relationships. Enter Kylie Kelce: Swift’s soon-to-be sister-in-law, mom of four, field hockey coach, and wife of retired Philadelphia Eagles star Jason Kelce. Over the past year, Swift and Kylie’s bond has become one of the sweetest subplots of Swift’s love story with her fiancé and Kansas City Chiefs player, Travis Kelce. Keeping things relatively low-key, they’ve shown support for each other through subtle public nods and shout-outs in interviews.
Below, read a timeline of how Swift’s friendship with the Not Gonna Lie podcaster has grown since The Life of a Showgirl singer stepped into the Kelce family orbit.
A month after Swift’s first appearance at a Chiefs game, Kylie revealed that her daughter Wyatt is a Swiftie. She posted a TikTok showing the young fan watching a football game. “Just another swiftie tryna learn football, or a kid tryna avoid a nap. Who knows?” Kylie wrote.
Kylie set the record straight after seeing a New York Post headline that suggested she’s trying to “avoid the Taylor Swift spotlight.” The partial quote was aggregated from Kylie’s interview with Spectrum News in Kansas City.
“Go watch that video. Go watch that interview,” she urged viewers on TikTok. “I said it’s not my cup of tea to have attention on me.” She said the headline “seems like a stretch to me,” adding, “You’re reaching!”
The Today show shared an Instagram post about Swift’s publicist shutting down rumors about the singer and her ex Joe Alwyn. Users noticed that Kylie liked the post.
On his New Heights podcast, Jason confirmed that Kylie and Swift met for the first time in person on Jan. 21, 2024. They watched Travis’s Chiefs team take on the Buffalo Bills from a suite. In the private viewing box, Jason was seen taking his shirt off and was, let’s say, overcome with excitement throughout the game.
“She was already telling me to be on my best behavior because we were meeting Taylor, so she’s like do not—be on your best behavior,” Jason said of Kylie’s behest. “I was like, ‘Kylie, the first day I met you, I was blacked out drunk and fell asleep in the bar. This is part of the charm. This is part of the Jason Kelce charm. I wanna make my best first impression—this is my best chance!’”
The day after the game, Travis’s childhood best friend, Aric Jones, also shared an Instagram carousel that included a photo of Swift and Kylie. The following week, model Keleigh Sperry Teller shared a TikTok showing Swift and Kylie celebrating the Chiefs’ AFC Championship win.
Swift and Kylie were seen chit-chatting in their suite at the Super Bowl.
On March 31, Swift and Travis celebrated Easter at Jason and Kylie’s house in the Haverford Township suburb near Philadelphia. According to the Daily Mail, Swift met Kylie’s daughters, Wyatt, Elliotte, and Bennett, for the first time. (Her fourth child, Finnley, wouldn’t be born until the following year—more on that later.)
Shortly after, Kylie appeared on the Today show and spoke a bit about Travis’s budding relationship with Swift. “Ultimately, if Trav is happy, we’re happy. We are always cheering on Uncle Trav,” she said. “It’s such a treat to be able to do that on and off the field. But it’s been amazing.”
Kylie, Jason, and Travis attended two of Swift’s London shows during the Eras Tour on June 21 and June 22. Jason reportedly exchanged friendship bracelets with fans, per People.
The following week, Kylie was captured singing Swift’s 2008 hit “Love Story” at the New Heights Beer Bowl charity event in Sea Isle City, New Jersey. On X, the podcast shared a clip of the moment, writing, “Sing it, Ky!!!”
On February 8—the night before the Chiefs played the Eagles in the Super Bowl—Swift and Kylie were spotted hanging out with friends and family at Gianna Restaurant in New Orleans.
Later that week, Kylie was on the Call Her Daddy podcast. She revealed that she and Jason knew about Swift and Travis’s relationship before the singer’s first public appearance at a Chiefs game in September 2023. She also talked about her and Swift’s shared connection to Jersey. “We grew up going to the same Shore points,” she said. “So, her family was like Sea Isle, Stone Harbor. And that’s, like, the exact areas that I grew up going to. I’ve gone to Sea Isle City my whole life.”
Kylie then addressed rumors that she and Swift had been avoiding each other before meeting for the first time in January 2024. “I’m not avoiding anyone,” she said. “I’m more than happy to meet someone, especially someone that Travis is dating.” She added: “But it was funny to me because I kept saying to people, ‘I didn’t meet Travis for probably close to a year when Jason and I were dating.’” Kylie also mentioned that Swift had a “busy” schedule as she was performing on her Eras Tour from March 2023 to December 2024.
Elsewhere on the podcast, Kylie recalled a double date with Jason, Travis, and Swift where she wasn’t able to eat a prepared dinner. “I didn’t really eat the meal because I was eight weeks pregnant,” she said. “It was one of those where like nothing would sit with me.”
Following the episode’s release, some listeners online insinuated that Kylie refused to eat one of Swift’s home-cooked meals. But Kylie debunked the claims on her podcast, Not Gonna Lie, in a February 20 episode. “There was a little bit of confusion because that meal at home was like a private dinner,” which was prepared by “an outstanding chef,” she said.
“The home-cooked meals that I did not get to enjoy were not because I refused to eat them, but because the child in my womb overwhelmed me with hormones that suggested that if I consume anything other than crackers that it might be seen again if you catch my drift,” she added.
She then called out narratives that “pit women against women,” saying, “That seems dumb and counterproductive.” Giving Swift a shout-out, she added, “Anyone that asks me in person, I am very forthcoming with how much I love and appreciate her and how much I love the fact that you can tell how happy Travis is. And that’s what I care about.”
On April 1, Kylie and Jason announced that they welcomed their fourth child, a baby girl named Finnley, two days prior. In a joint Instagram post, they shared photos of their newborn, writing, “Whoop, there she is! Finnley ‘Finn’ Anne Kelce 3/30/25.” Swift showed support for the couple by liking the post.
On May 11, Swift and Kylie joined Travis, Jason, and their mom, Donna Kelce, for a Mother’s Day brunch. They celebrated the occasion at the restaurant Talula’s Garden in Philadelphia.
Swift made an appearance on the August 13 episode of New Heights and recalled meeting Kylie and Jason for the first time in January 2024.
When the former Eagles player asked if she knew Kylie told him to be on his best behavior, Swift responded: “I didn’t know what you were told, but I did know that one of the first things I saw was, like, you say to Kylie, ‘I was just shotgunning beers with the Bills mafia, and I really wanna go through one of the fire tables. I wanna jump through it. I wanna jump onto the flaming table.’ And she goes, ‘Okay, can we not do that right now?’”
“And since then, I’ve heard her say that exact thing to your 4-year-old, about like, ‘Mommy, I wanna throw this pudding on the wall, wouldn’t that be fun?’” Swift added before repeating Kylie’s refrain, “Can we not do it right now?” Jason then confirmed that it’s a “common phrase” that Kylie says.
During the episode, Swift also praised the pair, telling Jason, “You’re exactly as I thought you would be. Kylie is exactly as I thought she would be, just like the realest, the smartest, the coolest. You’re fantastic.”
After Swift and Travis announced their engagement on August 26, Kylie reacted to the news during a Good Morning America appearance. “The girls are thrilled,” she said, referring to her daughters in the September 5 interview. “They’re so excited they’re getting another aunt. And we could not be more excited for them and what the future holds. We love love, and we love Taylor and Trav.”
Kylie offered her unfiltered thoughts on The Life of a Showgirl’s most provocative track, “Wood,” during the October 9 episode of her Not Gonna Lie podcast. After hearing the song, which includes risqué lyrics referencing Travis, she joked that she “probably didn’t need to know that much detail about [her] brother-in-law.”
Still, she gave the Kansas City Chiefs player his due. “Good job, Trav!” Kylie said. “That’s women supporting women.”
