'A total lack of respect': Justin Timberlake fans furious after his failed concert in Romania

Justin Timberlake is far from a unanimous favorite. On July 17, the most popular singer of the 2000s infuriated many fans who attended his concert at the Electric Castle festival in Bontida, Romania . On social media, they criticized him for giving the "bare minimum" on stage and for singing "only a quarter of his songs ." Some also called his performance a "total disappointment."

The American artist, now 44, reportedly arrived more than 30 minutes late and spent the entire concert hidden in his jacket to protect himself from the rain. "I'm trying to stay warm," he is seen saying to the crowd in an amateur video relayed by the Daily Mail . "Is the rain always like this in the summer? No? So you guys made this up for me? Thank you." Was this his camouflage? His performance lacked "energy," according to several accounts.

Justin Timberlake also frustrated his audience when he performed his biggest single , Cry Me a River (2002), on which he sang almost no lyrics. "It was more like karaoke than a concert," the audience complained, some of whom demanded their tickets refunded. "He didn't want to be there... not at all," one social media user complained. " He owes people money! This is really embarrassing," another added.

One fan in particular was feeling really bad. "Mr. Justin Timberlake, a total disappointment," she first declared in a video that went viral. Before continuing: "I liked you, I thought you were cool, I knew your songs. It was the first time I saw you, but to be honest, you really disappointed me. You come to my country, I pay a lot of money, it's raining and I waited all day for you to come on stage." The user criticized her for singing "five words on every song" and for appearing with her face completely covered . "It shows a total lack of respect for your audience," she concluded.
